
Three Jackals Named To UHL All-Star Team

Elmira, NY - The Elmira Jackals proudly announced today that three of their players have been named to the 2004-2005 UHL All Star Team.
Captain Trevor Burgess (D), UHL's 2nd leading goal scorer Jason Sessa (RW) and the UHL's 3rd leading point scorer Greg Koehler (C) were all named to play for Team Pepsi, which represents the eastern teams of the United Hockey League.
Burgess has 3 goals and 22 assists for 25 points in 35 games played, making him tied for 2nd amongst all UHL defenseman in scoring (25). The Jackals captain, a Carleton Place, Ontario native, leads the League's blue liners in assists (22).
In 37 games this season Sessa has 25 goals and 20 assists for 45 points, which is good enough to be tied for 8th in the UHL in scoring. The Long Island, New York native is leading the UHL in power play goals (13) and is 2nd in goals scored (25).
Koehler has been on top of the UHL points leader board for most of the season, being dethrone only recently due to injuries that kept him out of the lineup. Through 34 games played, the Scarborough, Ontario native has 52 points by way of 24 goals and 28 assists. He is tied for 3rd in the UHL in scoring (52) and goals scored (24) and is 5th in the league in shots on goal (143).
The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Monday the official rosters for the 2005 Pepsi UHL All-Star Classic. The Adirondack Frostbite will host the league's sixth All-Star Classic on January 24, 2005 in Glens Falls, New York. The official rosters are comprised of 20 players (18 skaters and two goaltenders) with each Member Club represented by a minimum of one player.
The official starting lineup for each roster will be selected by fans. The 2005 Pepsi UHL All-Star Classic Fan Balloting will begin today, Monday, January 10, 2005, exclusively on the official website of the United Hockey League. Online fan balloting at theuhl.com will end at 11:59 p.m. EST on Monday, January 17, 2005. Elmira Jackals fans can show their support for their three All-Stars by logging on to theuhl.com and voting Burgess, Sessa and Koehler to the Team Pepsi starting lineup.
The Jackals road trip continues Wednesday as they head to the Glens Falls Civic Center for a 7:00 pm showdown with the Adirondack Frostbite. Elmira's next home game is on Friday, January 21st against the Kalamazoo Wings at 7:30 pm at the First Arena.
