
Mallards Deal Rookie Duo to Motor City

Moline, IL-Quad City Mallards President and General Manager Howard Cornfield today announced that the team has traded rookies Mike Burgoyne and Jeff Doyle to the Motor City Mechanics in exchange for cash considerations.
Defenseman Mike Burgoyne appeared in 17 Mallards games this season. The Hamilton, Ontario native was held scoreless while registering 28 penalty minutes this season. Burgoyne was in his first full season as a Mallard after making his pro debut with Quad City last spring.
Forward Jeff Doyle played seven games for the Mallards and was held scoreless while recording four penalty minutes. Doyle also debuted for the Mallards last spring and was in his first full campaign with the team.
The Mallards continue a four-game home stand on Wednesday vs. Kalamazoo. On Friday, the Mallards host the Missouri River Otters on Credit Union Night. Thundersticks will be given away courtesy of The Bread Basket. On Saturday, Old Time Hockey Night featuring Chicago Blackhawks organist Frank Pellico returns to The MARK. Game time for all three games is 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at The MARK box office or via phone at (563) 326-1111.
