Forward Justin Courtnall Reassigned by Providence

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 20 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry and proud ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that forward Justin Courtnall as been reassigned to the team by the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Courtnall, 23, appeared in three games with the Bruins (AHL) this season, adding no points. The Victoria, British Columbia, native registered two goals and two assists for four points in 18 games with the Stingrays. Currently in his first professional campaign, Courtnall attended Boston University for three seasons totaling 13 points (seven goals, six assists) in 92 career games. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound forward was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the seventh round (210 overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

The Stingrays continue a seven-game homestand tonight, Friday, January 18 at 7:05 p.m. against the Greenville Road Warriors on Hockey Heroes for Epilepsy Night.
