Idaho Steelheads News Release

Boise, ID (1/18/13) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Friday afternoon that the Idaho Steelheads have signed forward Tyler Gron.

The first-year forward out of Spruce Grove, Alberta, will be in uniform Friday night when the Steelheads host the rival Alaska Aces at 7:10 PM at CenturyLink Arena in downtown Boise. He'll wear jersey no. 28.

Gron (GRAWN) joins the Steelheads after skating the first part of the season with Bloomington of the Central Hockey League. He earned his promotion to the ECHL after netting 21 goals - second-most in the league - in just 31 games with Bloomington. He made his professional debut at the end of last season with the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, appearing in three games and doling out one assist.

The 23-year-old played his college hockey at Northern Michigan. One of his teammates was Mark Olver, the son of former Steelheads head coach John Olver.

Group nights are a great way to get family, friends, co-workers and colleagues together in downtown Boise at a discounted price. Groups can also include a Double-R Ranch hot dog, Tim's Cascade Chips, and a small Pepsi. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 or log onto www.idahosteelheads.com for more information.
