The Jackals are facing the Titans tonight for the eighth of 16 meetings this season and the fourth of eight at First Arena. The Jackals are 4-2-1 this season against Trenton thanks to a 4-3 win in their last meeting on January 6. Elmira and Trenton square off nine times over the second half of the season with five of those games coming at First Arena. The Jackals have won two straight over the Titans at home (2-1-0 overall this season) and are 23-13-3 all time when hosting Trenton. The Titans snapped a seven game losing streak (0-5-2) on Wednesday morning with a 4-3 OT win over Reading Andy Bombach had two goals, including the OT winner.
Elmira enters play tonight with the ninth-ranked power play in the ECHL at 20.3 percent. It was as high as fourth a week ago, but an 0-for-20 stretch over the last five games has reduced the ranking. The Jackals scored their last power play goal at 19:12 of the first period on January 4 at home against Reading. Despite the lack of production on the power play the Jackals continue to win. They are 3-1-1 over the five games they have gone without a power play goal. Overall they are 5-10-3 when held without a power play marker.
