Caron and Mignardi Return from Houston

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears announced today that F Rob Mignardi and D Josh Caron have been returned to the team from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Houston Aeros, while the team has suspended G Hannu Toivonen as he has elected to leave the Solar Bears to pursue opportunities in Europe.

Mignardi was called up to the Aeros on December 13, and has since played in 14 games scoring one goal and adding one assist. He has played in 44 AHL games in his professional career, tallying five points on three goals and one assist. The Richmond Hill, Ontario, native has played in 25 games for the Solar Bears this season, striking for five goals and five assists for 10 points. He has scored the game-winning goal on two occasions, helping the Solar Bears to a 5-3 win over Elmira on November 10, and a 4-2 win over Kalamazoo on November 17.

Caron was recalled to the Aeros on January 6, playing in one game against the Texas Stars. He has played 11 games in the AHL this season, his first as a pro, picking up seven penalty minutes (PIM). The 6'4", 215 lbs. defenseman has dressed for 20 games with the Solar Bears, notching one goal and one assist to go along with 39 PIM.

Toivonen played in 11 Solar Bears games, collecting a 2-7-0-0 record along with a 3.93 GAA and .888 save percentage.
