Fort Wayne Defeats Dragons in Suspended Game

Fort Wayne, Indiana-Adam Zornes belted a tie-breaking two-run home run in the sixth inning as the Fort Wayne TinCaps came from behind to defeat the Dayton Dragons 7-4 in the completion of a suspended game on Tuesday. The Dragons held a 4-1 lead in the fourth inning when the game was suspended by rain on Monday night.

The regularly-scheduled game, scheduled for seven innings, will begin at approximately 8:05 p.m.

Dayton remaines one game behind South Bend, pending the remaining games on Tuesday, in the playoff wildcard race with 19 games to play.

Fort Wayne's Brayden Drake belted a two-run home run off Dragons reliever Mark James shortly after the game resumed on Tuesday in the bottom of the fourth inning to cut the Dragons lead to 4-3.

In the sixth, Allan Dykstra doubled in Jaff Decker with no one out to tie the game. Zornes followed with a two-run homer to left to give Fort Wayne a 6-4 lead. The TinCaps added another run in the eighth when Yefri Carvajal connected on a solo home run against Dragons reliever Mike Bohana.

James (1-7) took the loss. He allowed five runs on four hits in two innings of relief with one walk and one strikeout.

Dayton finished with nine hits. Alex Olveras, Byron Wiley, and Humberto Sosa each collected two.

J.C. Sulbaran (3-3, 4.99) will start for Dayton in the second game Tuesday.
