
Former RiverHawk takes NCAA team to super-regional

LOVES PARK, Ill. - Former Rockford RiverHawk Dan Heefner's college club is heading to an NCAA super-regional.
Heefner's Dallas Baptist University program beat Oral Roberts University, 11-9, on Sunday to advance from the Ft. Worth regional. DBU, 42-18, is scheduled to play California in a best-of-three super-regional beginning Saturday at Berkley.
Heefner was a catcher/first baseman/designated hitter with the RiverHawks in 2002.
