Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release

The Bowling Green Hot Rods, Class A Affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, are proud to announce that former Hot Rods pitcher Josh Satow has been promoted to Class AA Montgomery. Satow joins the Biscuits after spending the end of 2009 and the first half of 2010 with the Charlotte Stone Crabs of the Florida State League. With his promotion, he makes history as the first Hot Rod to make it to the AA level.

Satow earned the promotion after guiding the Stone Crabs bullpen to a tremendous first half. The lefty was 4-1 with a 1.76 ERA through 22 games, earning a berth on the 2010 Florida State League All-Star Game. The 2008 draftee out of Arizona State converted all nine save opportunities for Charlotte, striking out 42 with just nine walks in 30.2 innings.

He was at his best leading up to his promotion, allowing one earned run over his final 11.2 innings in High A. Additionally, he earned the win the 2010 FSL All-Star Game, throwing 1.1 scoreless frames with three strikeouts for the FSL South team.

Before his promotion to Charlotte at the end of 2009, Satow was a stalwart for the Hot Rods bullpen. Over 44 relief outings he went 4-0 with a 2.29 ERA while establishing the franchise record with 20 saves. Just like 2010 with Charlotte, the lefty was a strikeout machine for Bowling Green in 2009, recording 65 K's in 63 innings.

The Hot Rods return home to begin their first home stand of the second half on Monday night against the Lansing Lugnuts (Toronto Blue Jays). Monday is Dairy Night presented by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture and the Kentucky Dairy Development Council. The first 1,000 fans will get a Hot Rods Cowbell to celebrate the Kentucky dairy industry. Monday is also Youth Sports Night and another Minit Mart Monday.
