Dayton, Ohio-The Dayton Dragons announced the following roster moves today:
Right-handed pitcher Kevin Arico has been added to the roster after being selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the 10th round of the 2010 draft.
Right-handed pitcher Chase Ware and infielder Shane Carlson have been promoted to Lynchburg, the Reds Single-A affiliate in the Carolina League.
Right-handed pitcher Josh Ravin has been placed on the disabled list.
The Dragons roster is currently at 23 players, two below the Midwest League limit.
Arico (pronounced uh-REE-ko) played college baseball at the University of Virginia and served as the closer for the team in 2010 when he led the nation in saves with 18. He walked eight and struck out 44 in 34.1 innings. Virginia entered the post-season as the #5 national seed. They came within one victory of qualifying for the eight-team College World Series, losing to Oklahoma in the Super Regional. Arico is a native of Flemington, New Jersey.
