
Former Everblade Makes NHL Debut

ESTERO, FL - Former Everblades netminder Anton Khodubin earned his first NHL playing time and first win last night. Khudobin relieved Minnesota Wild starter Jeff Harding in the third period after he was injured. He finished the final 9:33 of the game stopping nine of nine shots and earned his first NHL vicory, 4-2. Khudobin becomes the 17th Everblade player to appear in the National Hockey League. The most recent 'Blade to make his debut in the NHL was Matt Hendricks with the Colorado Avalanche last season.
The 23-year-old goaltender appeared in 33 games with the Everblades last season. He posted a record of 18-10-1 with a 2.71 goals against average and.907 save percentage. Of his 18 wins, four came via the shutout. In 2007-08, his rookie season, Khudobin led the ECHL while with Texas with a 1.98 goals against and.934 save percentage while posting a 20-1-4 record in 27 games with Texas. He was named the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Year and also was named to the First Team All-ECHL and ECHL All-Rookie Team. He also participated in the 2009 ECHL All Star Game.
Khudobin has spent the majority of the season in Houston, Minnesota's AHL affiliate. He has appeared in 28 games and posted a record of 10-14-1 with four shutouts. His goals against average of 2.42 and save percentage of.904 earned him an AHL All Star Game bid.
