Fonstad, Gregor Lead Raiders To Win Over Blades

Prince Albert, SK - Cole Fonstad and Noah Gregor each had three-point nights to lead the Prince Albert Raiders (35-4-0-1) to a 5-2 win over the Saskatoon Blades (24-12-5-0) on Saturday night at the Art Hauser Centre.
Fonstad had a goal and two assists while Noah Gregor scored twice and added a helper. Brett Leason also had a pair of assists in the win.
The Raiders got the scoring started 5:52 into the contest. Ozzy Wiesblatt recovered a chip in and circled the zone, at one time putting the puck through the legs of a Blades player. The rookie from Calgary eventually found Fonstad with a tape-to-tape pass and the Montreal Canadiens draft pick tapped it past Dorrin Luding for his 14th of the year.
About a minute later, the Raiders doubled their lead. Leason worked behind the Blades' goal. He eventually found Justin Nachbaur at the side of the net, who jammed it past Luding for his 10th goal of the season to put the Raiders up 2-0 after the first.
Five minutes into the second, the Blades cut the lead in half. Gary Haden broke into the Raiders' end on a two-on-one rush. Haden kept and beat Scott for his 15th goal of the year.
The Raiders responded on a power play with 7:35 left in second. After Luding robbed Gregor, the puck found its way back to the San Jose Sharks prospect. Gregor waited and beat Luding on the far side for his 25th goal this season.
Midway through the third, the Raiders extended their lead. Dante Hannoun recovered a pass from Spencer Moe behind the net and threw it in front where Parker Kelly one-timed it past Luding for his 18th of the year.
Late in the third, the Blades cut the lead in half again. Haden hit Dawson Davidson with a backdoor pass and the overage defenceman fired it into the empty half of the net to make it 4-2 with 2:32 to play.
The Raiders got that goal back exactly one minute later. Fonstad found a streaking Gregor, who wired a shot past Luding for his second of the contest with 1:32 to play to round out the scoring.
Ian Scott stopped 19 shots to earn his first win since re-joining the Raiders following his time with Team Canada. He now has 24 on the season, meeting his career high set last year.
The Raiders continue their homestand on Wednesday night when the Seattle Thunderbirds (11-20-4-0) make their only trip to Prince Albert this season. Puck drop is 7 p.m. Tickets are available at raiderhockey.com and the Raider Office.
