The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Trenton Thunder will meet in the finale of a three-game series...The Flying Squirrels rallied for six runs in the bottom of the eight inning en route to an 8-3 win over the Thunder in game two of the three-game series on Tuesday night at The Diamond.

before noon...The Flying Squirrels are 3-8 in games starting after noon.

FRAME IT: The Flying Squirrels scored six runs on five hits and sent 11 batters to the plate in the bottom of the eighth inning last night...The six runs scored matched a season-high...It was the second time the club scored six runs in an inning and first since scoring six times in the bottom of the fourth inning 5/29 against Bowie...The 11 batters in the inning was a new season-high.

REVERSING THEIR FORTUNE: Richmond went 4-for-6 with runners in scoring position last night and stranded five runners on base...Over the first five games of the current seven-game homestand, the club was just 9-for-45 (.200) with runners in scoring position and the Flying Squirrels had stranded 39 runners on base (7.8RS/G)...Overall on the season, the club is still hitting .211 with runners in scoring position.

RUN THIS TOWN: Infielder Sharlon Schoop went 3-for-3 last night with a two-run homer, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk...The home run was the first for the native of Curacao since August 24, 2009 against Binghamton...He had gone 50 games and 154 at-bats between home runs...The 23-year-old set a new season-high in RBI while matching season-highs in hits and runs scored.

THE WEATHER MAN: Third baseman Conor Gillaspie has hits in each of his last six games, matching a season-long hit streak...The 23-year-old is 9-for-22 (.409) over his last six games with a double, triple, 2 RBI and four runs scored...In 16 games this month, he is hitting .380 (19-for-50); however, only three of his 19 hits in July have gone for extra bases (a double and two triples)...He has walked seven times and has struck out six times so far this month...Gillaspie is hitting .308 (49-for-159) in 42 games on the road while batting just .241 (41-for-170) in 48 games at home.

UNBUCKLING THE BELT: In 92 games combined between Advanced-A San Jose and Double-A Richmond, first baseman Brandon Belt leads all of minor league baseball in batting average (.379) and on-base percentage (.481) and is third in slugging percentage (.639) and is fifth in hits (124)...The 22-year-old has reached base safely in each of his last 14 games

DOUBLETREE DOWNTOWN DOUBLE PLAYS: The Richmond Flying Squirrels have turned 123 double plays in 96 games including six on 5/7 in Harrisburg...The Flying Squirrels have gone more than two games without a double play for the first time this season, having not turned one in each of the last three games...The club still leads the Eastern League in double plays turned.

CFS STAT OF THE NIGHT: The Flying Squirrels won for just the third time in 43 games when trailing after seven innings, coming back from a 3-2 deficit to win 8-3 last night.
