Baysox Ready To Rock With Rocknoceros

July 21, 2010 - Eastern League (EL1)
Chesapeake Baysox News Release

The Bowie Baysox announce today the final event of the Kids Concert Series when Rocknoceros performs on top of the dugout at Prince George's Stadium Sunday, Aug. 1, before the Baysox take on the New Britain Rock Cats at 6:05 p.m. In addition to the pregame concert, fans can meet Super Why and Alpha Pig, stars of the hit PBS Kids Program "Super Why," presented by Maryland Public Television.

Much like the other two performances in the Baysox Kids Concert Series, Rocknoceros performs on top of the third base dugout. Stadium gates open at 4 p.m. and the show is scheduled to begin at 4:15 p.m. The three-man power trio performs a number of different genres of music and has been delighting children in the Washington D.C. area since 2005.

Baysox Director of Ticket Operations Charlene Fewer looks forward to bringing her nieces to the concert. "My two young nieces have had so much fun with the Kids Concert Series," Fewer said. "They danced all day with Milkshake and laughed until they nearly burst with The Great Zucchini. They always have a lot of fun at the ballpark, but their favorite events have been the concerts."

After the concert, young Baysox fans can meet costumed Super Why and Alpha Pig characters from the PBS Kids animated show "Super Why." The program is designed to help kids ages three to six with the critical skills that they need to learn to read as recommended by the National Reading Panel. The characters will meet fans and pose for photos throughout the game.
