Richmond Flying Squirrels News Release
RICHMOND, VA - The Richmond Flying Squirrels today announced that their game with the Trenton Thunder on Monday, July 4th, and the Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks Extravaganza presented by Kroger, the Heart of Virginia Chevrolet Dealers, Delta Air Lines, and 102.1 The X has officially sold out. Tickets for the Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks Extravaganza on Tuesday, July 5th, still remain; however, only a limited number of Diamond Club seats are still available.
"We realized that we only had a certain number of tickets we could sell for the Fourth of July," said Flying Squirrels Vice President and COO Todd "Parney" Parnell. "With that in mind, we wanted to give fans as many opportunities as possible to come out to The Diamond and enjoy fireworks so that's why we scheduled four straight fireworks shows during the week."
The Flying Squirrels' second Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks Extravaganza presented by Kroger, the Heart of Virginia Chevrolet Dealers, Delta Air Lines, and 1140 WRVA on Tuesday, July 5th, will also feature a special extended fireworks show. In addition, the club has announced plans for patriotic sky divers to land on field prior to the start of the game during the pre-game ceremonies. Gates open at 6:00 PM and first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
The Flying Squirrels' Wednesday Night Fireworks Series presented by Verizon Wireless, MARVA The Galleria of Stone, Chili's at VCU, Walgreens, and 98.9 Liberty continues on July 6th. Gates open at 6:00 PM and first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
Rounding out the four-day fireworks blowout, the Flying Squirrels' Thursday Night Fireworks Series presented by American Standard, SunTrust, AT&T, and Lite 98 resumes on July 7th. Gates open at 6:00 PM and first-pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
Individual game tickets for the remainder of the Flying Squirrels' 2011 home games are currently available and can be purchased by calling (804) 359-FUNN (3866), visiting the Flying Squirrels' Ticket Office at The Diamond or logging on to SquirrelsBaseball.com.
