Utah Flash News Release

PROVO, Utah, August 12, 2009 - The Utah Flash and head coach Brad Jones have agreed to a one-year contract extension. The agreement comes after Jones and the Flash had a successful season culminating in a trip to the NBA Development League Finals. Under Jones, the Flash finished last season with a 32-18 regular season record.

"Coach Jones was our pick from day one, and after last year's success it makes perfect sense to bring him back," Utah Flash owner Brandt Andersen said.

Jones, who is the only head coach in Utah Flash history, improved on his first year record by 10 wins. Before joining the Flash Jones was a regional scout for the Flash's NBA affiliate the Utah Jazz.

"I enjoy working in the D-League and with the Flash. We have some great talent on the team and that makes my job easier," said Jones. "We had a good year last year, and hope to build on that success this coming season."

While NBA D-League rosters will not be set for a few months, there will be at least one definite change on the Flash bench. Flash assistant coach Dale Osbourne has taken a coaching position with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

"We will miss Dale and the energy and excitement he brought to the team, but we wish him the best of luck, on those nights he is not playing us," Flash team president Joe Brown said.

Utah Flash tickets for the 2009-2010 season are on sale now. You can reserve your seat by calling (801) 434-4667 or visiting the Utah Flash website www.utahflash.com.
