Erie BayHawks 2009-10 Schedule Set

ERIE-- The NBA Development League Erie BayHawks today released their schedule for the 2009-10 season. The BayHawks will open the season with four games on the road, before returning to the Tullio Arena for the home opener, December 12 at 7 pm versus the expansion Maine Red Claws.

"This year's schedule reflects some changes the league is instituting in an attempt to create territorial rivalries while providing more weekend games and considering team travel costs," said Matt Bresee, team president. "The fact that half of our home games fall on Fridays and Saturdays, makes this a very fan-friendly schedule."

The BayHawks also announced One Buck Wednesdays, in partnership with Smith Provisions, The Erie County Convention Center Authority and Centerplate (the arena's concessionaire). Each of the BayHawks five Wednesday night games will feature one dollar Smith's hot dogs, popcorn, beer and pop. The Wednesday games will also feature a limited number of fan friendly $5 and $8 tickets. The team will also offer an alcohol-free, Family Section for the Wednesday games.

"We know how much people love a great value, so we are happy to offer our fans the opportunity to enjoy games at a real affordable price," said Bresee.

The BayHawks will offer special 5 + 1 Mini-Packs, which includes tickets to the five Wednesday night games and one ticket to the home opener. The specially priced 5 + 1 Mini-Packs will be $30 for West End Zone Seats and $48 for Corner Seating.

The three BayHawks Sunday games are set for 2 pm a tip-off.

Highlights of the 2009-2010 BayHawks Season Schedule:

- CAVALIERS AFFILIATE NIGHT-The BayHawks set Friday, February 26, as Cleveland Cavaliers Affiliate Night, which will feature performances by the Cavalier Girls dance team, the Scream Team, hip-hop dance crew, Cavaliers' mascot Moondog and arena host Ahmaad. The BayHawks will sport classic Cavaliers wine and gold uniforms for the game against the Dakota Wizards.

- SCHOOL KIDS JAM- The second annual, School Kids Jam will have the BayHawks taking on the Sioux Falls Skyforce, Tuesday, March 9 at 11 am.

- FAITH AND FAMILY NIGHT- The team also set Sunday, January 10, 2 pm as a Faith and Family game against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

- Home game breakdown- Friday-6; Saturday-6; Wednesday-5; Sunday-3; Thursday-2; Tuesday-2.

- Longest home stand- five games; Friday, March 19 - Friday, April 2.

- Longest road trip- four games; Friday, November 27 - Saturday, December 5.

- For the first time, the NBA D-League will feature two conferences, East and West, for the 2009-10 season with the Red Claws and Armor joining the Eastern Conference. The Eastern Conference will consist of the Dakota Wizards, Erie BayHawks, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Iowa Energy, Maine Red Claws, Sioux Falls Skyforce and Springfield Armor, while the Western Conference includes the Albuquerque Thunderbirds, Austin Toros, Bakersfield Jam, Los Angeles D-Fenders, Idaho Stampede, Reno Bighorns, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Tulsa 66ers and Utah Flash.

- The BayHawks will play in the annual D League Showcase, which features all 16 teams playing two games each over a four-day period, January 4-7 in Boise, Idaho
