New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release

Manchester, NH- With a standing-room-only crowd of 8,054 on hand for Splash Day at Merchantsauto.com Stadium, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, set an all-time attendance record for an eight-game homestand with 49,433 turning out between Thursday, July 16, and Thursday, July 23, for the club's series against the Connecticut Defenders and the Trenton Thunder.

"We are very fortunate and grateful that the best fans in baseball are choosing to spend their time with us at Merchantsauto.com Stadium this summer," said Fisher Cats President/General Manager Rick Brenner. "Our goal continues to be to build as many layers and give as many reasons possible for our guests to enjoy our brand of affordable family entertainment again and again."

During the record-setting homestand the Fisher Cats drew an average of 6,179 fans per game, highlighted by today's 11th standing-room-only crowd of the year, marking the fourth 8,000-plus crowd of the season, another franchise record, and representing the eighth-largest crowd in Merchantsauto.com Stadium history. In addition, the Fisher Cats are now averaging 5,372 fans per opening, which is on pace to break last season's record-high average of 5,332 fans per game.

The Fisher Cats' previous attendance record for an eight-game homestand was 48,925, established between July 17-24, 2008, against the New Britain Rock Cats and the Trenton Thunder.

The eight-game homestand attendance record joins these other milestones set in 2009:

Single-Game attendance: 8,093 (May 26 vs Portland)

Seven-Game homestand: 47,794 (May 22-28 vs Trenton/Portland)

Three-game series: 22,619 (May 26-28 vs Portland)
