Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release
WINNIPEG - Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced three roster moves in advance of today's game against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks.
The Goldeyes have signed right-handed pitcher Billy Spottiswood, activated right-handed pitcher Stephen Kahn from the disabled list and placed right-handed pitcher Rich Hawkins on the disabled list.
Spottiswood, 27, started this season with the St. Paul Saints. He went 0-1 with a 5.55 ERA in 11 appearances out of the bullpen for the Saints.
A 25th round selection by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2007 MLB amateur draft, Spottiswood played five seasons in the D-Backs organization, reaching Triple-A in 2009 and 2010. With Double-A Mobile in 2011, he posted a 2.86 ERA in 51 relief appearances.
Kahn was acquired from the Laredo Lemurs last week, while Hawkins has made four starts for the Goldeyes this season.
The Goldeyes have 22 players on its active roster, including 12 pitchers and 10 position players.
