
Lemurs Win with Four in the Fourth

El Paso, TX - The Laredo Lemurs (16-18) score four runs in the fourth inning, turning a one-run advantage into a 7-2 lead, as the Lemurs go on to beat the El Paso Diablos (7-27) 7-3 at Cohen Stadium on Saturday night in El Paso, TX.
Lemurs third baseman John Allen accounted for four of Laredo's seven runs, batting in two and scoring a pair. Allen, who hit his 13th and 14th doubles of the year, raised his season average to .301 for the season. Lemurs shortstop Jimmy Mojica picked up four hits in six at bats, with two runs scored and a RBI. Anthony Scelfo also came up big for the Lemurs going three for five with a single, a double, and a triple, with two runs and a RBI.
On the mound for Lemurs, starter Chris Chavez (4-4) threw seven innings and allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk with three strikeouts on the evening.
For El Paso, leadoff man Maikol Gonzalez hit his second triple of the season with an RBI three-bagger in the third inning to highlight a 2-for-3 night. Gonzalez had two RBI and a run scored in the losing effort for the Diablos.
The Lemurs have won three straight games and two straight on the road for the first time all year.
