First roster move send Norman to Rancho; Giovanatto from Extended Spring Training

Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
An injury to former Kernel Chris Pettit at double-A Arkansas has forced the LA Angels to shuffle their outfielders between minor league affiliates. Outfielder Anthony Norman has been promoted to Rancho Cucamonga of the California League and Donato Giovanatto joins the Kernels from Extended Spring Training.
Giovanatto was selected by the Angels in the 33rd round of the 2007 Free Agent Draft out of San Jose State and spent 2007 at Orem where he posted a .266 average with 8 HR and 17 RBI in 45 games. The native of Scottsdale AZ will join the team in Clinton and be available for Saturday's DH with the LumberKings starting at 5 pm.
Pettit went on the DL with a broken right foot, which saw Jordan Renz called up from Rancho and Anthony Norman being assigned to the Quakes.
Today's move leaves the Kernels roster at the MWL maximum of 25 active players.
