Sudbury, Ont. - Alex Nedeljkovic made 43 saves and Mathieu Henderson extended his point streak to five games in Flint's 2-0 victory over the Sudbury Wolves on Saturday night. (http://www.flintfirebirds.com/article/sudbury11282015)
Connor Chatham recorded the first goal for the Firebirds at 9:59 of the first period. From the top of the left circle while on the power play, Ryan Moore found Will Bitten at the bottom of the left circle who one-touched the puck to Chatham in front of the net, scoring on Zack Bowman to earn Flint the lead for the rest of the contest.
With 39 seconds remaining in the game and the Sudbury net empty, Mathieu Henderson headmanned the puck up the left wing wall to Francesco Vilardi who made an unselfish play, dishing the puck to a streaking Mercer for his fifth of the season.
With the 2-0 victory in Sudbury, Flint has won their last three games and advanced to sixth place in the Western Conference. Alex Nedeljkovic recorded his eighth win on the season while making 43 saves on all 43 shots Saturday evening and was awarded first star honors.
