Brantford Bulldogs News Release

HAMILTON, ONT.- The Mississauga Steelheads (13-12-0-2) scored three second period goals to come from behind and beat the Hamilton Bulldogs (9-16-1-0) 4-1.

Hamilton would get their quest to topple Mississauga for the first time this season off to a good start when Matthew Strome corralled a loose puck in the slot, quickly spun and fired the puck through Steelheads goaltender Jack Flinn's legs. Niki Petti and Cole Candella registered the assists on Strome's third of the year at 8:07.

Hamilton would head into the second period with a 1-0 lead but it would be Mississauga that came out firing. Luke Kutkevicius found himself alone in the slot and one-timed home a Brendan Harrogate pass to even the game at 1. Ryan McLeod would get the secondary assist on Kutkevicius's second of the year, both of which have come against Hamilton. The goal was scored at 5:29.

Mississauga would convert on the power play at 8:40 when Michael McLeod would convert a saucer pass from Nathan Bastian. McLeod's tenth of the year would also be assisted by Stefan LeBlanc.

Before the period was out the Steelheads would get another when LeBlanc quickly broke into the Bulldogs zone and dropped the puck for Marcus Dickerson who snapped it past Hamilton starter Connor Hicks. Everett Clark also picked up an assist on Dickerson's second of the year.

The score would stay 3-1 until late in the third when, with Hicks pulled for the extra attacker, Alexander Nylander put the puck into the empty net for his team leading seventeenth goal of the year. Assists would go to Sean Day and Stephen Gibson on the goal at 19:58.

Hamilton's next game is Wednesday, December 2nd when the Owen Sound Attack travels to the FirstOntario Centre for their only visit of the year. Game time is 7:00 p.m. The 'Dogs then travel to the Sleeman Centre to take on the Guelph Storm on Friday, December 4th for a 7:30 p.m. puck drop.
