Reading Fightin Phils News Release

From Monday, June 30th throughout the remainder of the season, Reading Fightin Phils fans will be able to savor some local fare at FirstEnergy Stadium when "Colonel Cobb's" debuts in Tompkins VIST Bank Plaza.

"Colonel Cobb's" will offer tasty, locally grown roasted corn-on-the cob from Fisher's Farm Fresh Produce dipped in a Baseballtown Blend of savory parmesan cheese, secret spices, and butter. The new stand is located across the way from Plaza Favorites and the Crazy Hot Dog Vendor Kids Stand.

"Colonel Cobb's" adds to a ballpark cuisine that also includes other local delicacies like Berks' Hot Dogs, Green's Ice Cream, and Yuengling beer.

The addition of Fisher's Farm Fresh Produce bolsters the Fightin Phils connection to the farming community of Berks County that began with the addition of ostriches Ruth and Judy in 2013. Berks County ranks third in the United States and first in Pennsylvania for farmland preservation.

"We're always searching for ways to embrace Berks County's long-lasting connection to farming and the addition of Colonel Cobb's, with the help of Fisher's Farm Fresh Produce, continues to demonstrate that while offering fans a delicious addition to the outstanding FirstEnergy Stadium ballpark menu," said Fightin Phils General Manager Scott Hunsicker.

Located in the Oley Valley, Fisher's Farm Fresh Produce has been farming for over 200 years. Today, a sizable portion of the family's 150+ acre farm is devoted to growing top quality sweet corn and other delicious vegetables including pepper, greens, tomatoes, beets, and strawberries. While they will be providing corn for "Colonel Cobb's", Fisher's will start selling corn at their Oley stand beginning on Thursday, July 3rd.

Tickets for the 2014 season at FirstEnergy Stadium are available by visiting Fightins.com, calling the Fightin Phils Ticket Office at 610-370-BALL, or by visiting the Fightin Phils Ticket Office in person at FirstEnergy Stadium.
