
FC Dallas Selects Three More Players in Final Rounds of 2020 MLS SuperDraft

Frisco, Texas - FC Dallas selected midfielder Derek Waldeck (Stanford, 66th overall), forward Anders Engebretsen (Saint Mary's College, 79th overall) and midfielder Aidan Megally (Loyola University, 92nd overall) in the final two rounds of the 2020 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas, which was held today via conference call.
Waldeck, 21, played four seasons at Stanford University. The midfielder scored six goals and recorded 22 assists in 89 appearances, including 63 starts, for the Cardinals. He was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Far West Region First Team and All-Pac-12 First Team in 2019.
Engebretsen, 24, played four seasons at Saint Mary's College. The Oslo, Norway native scored 25 goals and 14 assists his last two seasons. He was honored with WCC Co-Player of the Year and named to the 2019 All-WCC First Team, USC All-West Region First Team and USC All-America First Team. Engebretsen played in the Heming youth system before joining Skeid Fotball in 2015.
Megally played four seasons at Loyola University. The midfielder was named to the College Soccer News 2019 All-America Third Team, Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year, MVC First Team honors and USC All-West Region First Team. Megally scored a team-best 10 goals that ranked second in the MVC in 2019 and beat the Loyola single-season record for shots with 73 and recorded four assists.
Waldeck, Engebretsen and Megally join first round picks Nkosi Burgess and Cal Jennings and second round pick Manuel Ferriol in Dallas' 2020 draft class.
