CINCINNATI - FC Cincinnati selected Indiana University midfielder Joris Ahlinvi (pronounced jor-EESE AH-lin-vee) with the No. 53 overall selection in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft. The midfielder was FCC's second SuperDraft selection after the Orange and Blue selected University of Portland forward Rey Ortiz in the second round with the No. 29 overall selection on Thursday, Jan. 9.
Ahlinvi played one season at Indiana University (2019), after playing three seasons at Florida International University (2016-18). In his lone season for the Hoosiers, the midfielder made 10 appearances and scored two goals. Ahlinvi was a two-time First-Team All-Conference USA selection in his time with Florida International University. Throughout his three seasons with the Panthers, he made 47 appearances, including 43 starts, scoring 16 goals and contributing nine assists.
FC Cincinnati received the No. 53 pick of the 2020 MLS SuperDraft, $50,000 in General Allocation Money, and the 26th pick of the 2019 MLS Re-Entry Draft (Stage 1) from Inter Miami CF in exchange for the rights to midfielder Victor Ulloa and the first pick of the 2019 MLS Re-Entry Draft (Stage 1) on Nov. 11, 2019.
FC Cincinnati will return to the field for their second MLS season on Sunday, March 1, when the team opens the season in Harrison, N.J., against the New York Red Bulls. After a road game at Atlanta United FC on Saturday, March 7, FCC will open its 2020 home slate on Saturday, March 14, when the team hosts D.C. United at Nippert Stadium in a 5:30 p.m. game.
Season Ticket Memberships are still available for purchase and start at $230 per ticket.
