Bridgeport, Conn. - Former Sound Tiger, Drew Fata, returned to Arena at Harbor Yard for the first time in an opposing team jersey and scored two goals to lead the Binghamton Senators to a 4-1 win over the Sound Tigers. Jeff Tambellini scored the only goal for the Sound Tigers, extending his goal-scoring streak to three games with his third tally of the season. Marc Cavosie and Zack Smith scored the other two goals for the Senators, giving them their first regulation victory in five tries this season over the Sound Tigers. The loss drops the Sound Tigers' record to 19-8-1-2 keeping them at 41 points and dropping them into second place in the East Division.

Both net-minders were tested early in the first period. Peter Mannino, starting his sixth straight game, faced 10 shots and turned each aside. Brian Elliott was in goal for the Senators and stopped all 11 Sound Tiger attempts.

Fata would open the scoring in the second period with his third goal of the season. Brian Lee and Zack Smith had the assists on Fata's goal, coming 3:08 into the period.

Binghamton would add to their lead in the final frame when Cavosie came in alone on Mannino scored his first goal of the season. The former Islanders' Training Camp invitee last season took a pass from Danny Bois, springing him in alone on Mannino and out-waited the Sound Tiger goalie and slid the puck past his right pad about three minutes into the third for the Binghamton 2-0 lead. Just over three minutes later, Fata would score his second goal of the game while on the power-play, on a shot from the left point. Denis Hamel settled the play in the right circle and sent a pass to Matt Carkner at the right point. Carkner snapped a pass to Fata along the near boards where he put a shot on net that sailed past Mannino's blocker, giving the defenseman four tallies this season with three coming against the Sound Tigers.

Tambellini would put the Sound Tigers on the board at 8:24 when he one-timed a pass from Jesse Joensuu for his third goal in as many nights. Jack Hillen also assisted on the marker, breaking Elliott's shut-out bid and making the score 3-1. Smith would add one more goal for the Senators, his tenth of the season with less than five minutes to play in regulation time, sealing the victory for Binghamton at 4-1. Cavosie and Brian Lee each earned their second assists of the game on the tally.

Mannino finished the game with 19 saves while Elliott earned the win stopping 21. The Sound Tigers were 0-for-6 on the power-play and 7-for-8 on the penalty-kill.

The Sound Tigers will close out the weekend, Sunday at 4 p.m. when they welcome the Lowell Devils to Arena at Harbor Yard for the second time this season. Fans are encouraged to bring stuffed toys for the team's annual Teddy Bear Toss. Once the Sound Tigers score their first goal of the game, fans will have the opportunity to throw their stuffed toys onto the ice. The players will collect the toys and deliver them to several local hospitals next week.
