Fans Shoot To Win VW Jetta TDI; Team To Wear Special Jerseys

ALBANY, NY- The Albany River Rats today announced that the club will host Nemer Volkswagen Go Green Weekend on Friday and Saturday at the Times Union Center. Albany hosts the Hartford Wolf Pack in a 7:00pm face-off on Friday night and then take on the Springfield Falcons in a 7:00pm match up on Saturday with a host of activities scheduled.

One lucky fan at each Nemer Volkswagen Go Green game will shoot for the chance to win a VW Jetta TDI, voted the 2009 Green Car of the Year. Fans will have the opportunity to view the TDI up close at the Go Green games, which also feature the ACE Hardware Seed Giveaway to the first 1,000 people at each event and tips from River Rat players on how to become more ecofficient.

The team will wear special jerseys with a Go Green patch at both games, which will be auctioned off at the end of the regular season. The team also recently went Green in the Press Box switching from standard paper press note packages to using USB ports to allow media members and scouts access to the information.

The River Rats return home to prepare for a two-game home stand, beginning on Friday, March 27th at 7:00 pm as they host the Hartford Wolf Pack at the Times Union Center.
