The Chicago Wolves will announce St. Francis High School senior Kimberly Neary as the winner of the team's Tim Breslin Memorial Scholarship at their game at the Allstate Arena on Sun., March 29 at 3 p.m.

Neary, who was chosen by the Breslin family from a group of applicants based on an essay she wrote detailing her mother's battle with cancer and subsequent passing, and the lessons she has taken away from the experience, will be on hand to accept the honor from the former Wolves left wing's parents, widow and children. Breslin, who was one of the first three players signed by the franchise, passed away on Feb. 9, 2005, due to complications from appendiceal cancer. Neary is a member of her high school volleyball team, math team, National Honor Society and student ministry team. She also worked as a volunteer aide at Carol Stream Public Library, and captained a Relay for Life team in her mother's honor in 2005. She has compiled a 4.96 GPA. The scholarship provides one semester of college.
