
Falcons Road Winning Streak Halted with 2-1 Loss in Stockton

Stockton, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons had their six-game road winning streak stopped on Saturday, as the Stockton Thunder picked up a 2-1 win at Stockton Arena.
Fresno scored the only goal of the opening period for the second straight night, converting on a power-play opportunity 7:04 into the contest. Josh Prudden sent a pass in front of the Stockton net, and Igor Gongalsky was able to redirect the puck past goaltender Tim Boron to gave the Falcons a 1-0 lead.
Stockton tied the game late in the second period. Joel Stepp won a face-off in the Fresno zone to Tim O'Connell at the right point, and he beat Jake Moreland with a long wrist shot for his second goal of the season.
The Thunder took the lead 7:48 into third period with a power-play goal from Brian Lee, who fired a shot through traffic from the blue line for his seventh goal of the year.
Stockton finished the night with a 46-34 edge in shots. The Falcons scored once on six power-play chances, while the Thunder went 1-for-7 on the man advantage.
The Falcons continue their four-game road trip on Tuesday, with a 7:11 p.m. face-off in Phoenix against the RoadRunners. Catch all of the action on 790 ESPN Radio, The Deuce, starting with the Port of Subs Pre-Game Show at 6:55.
Fresno returns home on Friday, March 21, hosting the Bakersfield Condors at 7:30 p.m. The first, 3,000 fans in attendance receive a Falcons hat courtesy of Supercuts and 104.1 FM. Following the game, Falcons players and staff members will have their heads shaved as part of a St. Baldrick's Day Foundation. All money raised will benefit pediatric cancer research.
