Fresno Falcons News Release

Las Vegas, Nev. - The Fresno Falcons dropped a 3-2 decision to the Las Vegas Wranglers in front of 3,522 fans on Tuesday night at Orleans Arena.

After a scoreless first period, Las Vegas got on the scoreboard 8:11 into the second period. Aki Seitsonen took a pass from Marco Peluso at the top of the crease, deked Scott Stirling down to the ice, and slid a shot past the Falcons' goaltender off of his backhand.

Fresno tied the game with a power-play goal at 10:34, ending their scoreless drought at 209:43. The Falcons had good pressure throughout the power play, and finally Rob McFeeters got his stick on the puck at the hash marks, and beat Mike McKenna low to the near post tying the game at 1.

The Wranglers countered at 14:07 to regain the lead. Off of a face-off win, Ryan Bonni fed the puck to Tyler Mosienko in the right-wing circle, and he beat Stirling with a quick wrist shot to make it 2-1.

Seitsonen added his second power-play goal of the period at 16:24 to give Las Vegas a 3-1 lead heading into the third period.

The Falcons pulled back within one 10:05 into the third period, scoring their league-leading 17th shorthanded goal of the season. Tom Walsh led the rush across the Las Vegas line, and centered for Luke Curtin, who tucked the puck home on McKenna's glove side.

Fresno pulled Stirling for an extra attacker in the final minute, but was unable to get the tying goal past McKenna.

The Falcons are back in action on Saturday, hosting the Stockton Thunder at 7:30 p.m. on Pink at the Rink Night, presented by the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation, KSEE 24, ClearChannel Radio, and the Fresno Bee. The Falcons will wear special pink jerseys, which will be auctioned off following the game, with all proceeds benefiting the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation in its work to prevent breast cancer and domestic violence. The first 3,000 fans in attendance receive a free pink puck courtesy of the Fur Emporium. The Falcons also look to break the team's single-game attendance record of 12,462 set in the team's first game at Save Mart Center on November 16, 2003.
