PENSACOLA, FL - The Penascola Ice Pilots posted a perfect weekend of 2-0-0-0 this week in the ECHL following a pair of victories over the Columbia Inferno 5-4 in overtime, and 3-2. The Ice Pilots head into this week's action with a record of 12-28-1-1 (26 points, 8th South Division.).

DODGE ICE PILOTS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Goaltender Michael Mole is this week's Dodge Ice Pilots Player-of-the-Week after posting a mark of 2-0-0-0 in games against the Columbia Inferno. Mole faced 97 shots in two games and turned aside 91 of them.

Sergei Ogorodnikov is the runner up after he posted four goals in two games. He scored the game's first two goals in a 5-4 overtime win over Columbia on Friday and then followed that up with another two, including the game winner in a 3-2 verdict also over the Inferno.

ICE CHIPS: The Ice Pilots are on a two-game winning streak which matches their longest of the season. On only one other occasion have the Ice Pilots have had the opportunity to extend a streak to three games (December 23) but failed. The Ice Pilots have two victories when they have trailed after 40 minutes this season and both have come against the Columbia Inferno. Nine of the Ice Pilots 12 wins have come when they have a lead after 40 minutes.

The Ice Pilots last three victories on the road have come at the expense of the Inferno.

HOME ICE SUCCESS PUT TO TEST: Home ice has certainly had a nice ring to it for the Pensacola Ice Pilots with four wins in their last six games. That success will be put to the test over the next week when the Blue and Gold play their next four at The Hangar, including games against the Florida Everblades, Columbia Inferno, Charlotte Checkers and Texas Wildcatters.

THIS WEEK:

TUESDAY, JAN. 30 VS. FLORIDA EVERBLADES, 7:05 pm, THE HANGAR:

This will mark the fifth meeting of the season between the Pensacola Ice Pilots and the Florida Everblades. Despite notching just one win, the Ice Pilots have been competitive in all of the games against the Everblades.

PROMOTION: It's two for Tuesday and fans can buy one ticket and receive a second one free.

FRIDAY, DEC. 2 VS. COLUMBIA INFERNO, 7:05 PM, THE HANGAR: The Columbia Inferno will make their second appearance of the season to The Hangar and first since the second weekend of the season. The Ice Pilots have posted three wins in four games in Columbia.

PROMOTION: It's Scout Night, and to book your troop call the Ice Pilots office at 432-PUCK and speak with Aaron.

SATURDAY, DEC. 3 VS CHARLOTTE CHECKERS, 7;05 PM, THE HANGAR: The Ice Pilots are 2-3-0-0 versus the Checkers this season. All five games have been competitive with the Ice Pilots posting one win at home and the other at Bobcat Arena.

All games begin at 6:45 pm with Ice Pilots Countdown to Face-off followed by the puck drop at 7 pm with Denis J. Puska describing you all of the action. ICE PILOTS 5 - COLUMBIA INFERNO 4, OVERTIME:

David Wrigley fired the game winning goal 38 seconds into overtime to lift the Ice Pilots past the Inferno 5-4 at Carolina Coliseum on Friday night. It was a rollercoaster ride for the Ice Pilots as they built an early 2-0 lead on a pair of power play goals from Sergei Ogorodnikov, only to see the Inferno score three straight and lead 3-2 after 20 minutes. During the first period, the Ice Pilots lost forward Dallas Steward due to a broken wrist.

Michael Mole turned away 15 second-period shots to keep the Ice Pilots in the game and allow the comeback march to begin in the final period. Mike Wirll was the man in charge with both goals to make it 4-3. The Inferno tied the game in the final three minutes of regulation time. In overtime, the Ice Pilots received a power play just seconds after the puck was dropped setting up the great finish.

ICE PILOTS 3 - COLUMBIA INFERNO 2:

Goaltender Michael Mole turned aside 45 of 47 shots as the Pensacola Ice Pilots won their second straight over the Columbia Inferno 3-2. After trailing 1-0 early in the first period, the Ice Pilots pulled ahead on goals by John Hecimovic and Sergei Ogorodnikov. In the second period, Ogorodnikov added his second of the game on a hard snap shot. It was all Mole after that with some great saves to keep his team in front.
