R.C. Slocum Comes Home for Aggie Night to Support the Texas Wildcatters

Beaumont, TX (January 30, 2007) The winningest coach in Texas A&M football history will be visiting the Wildcatters for Friday night's game vs. Long Beach. R.C. Slocum will be on hand for Friday's Aggie Night with the Wildcatters. Slocum will address the Wildcatters team in the locker room. There will be a question and answer session with Aggie fans in the VIP room from 7-7:15 p.m. Slocum will also drop the ceremonial puck at 7:30 p.m.

Slocum grew up in Orange, Texas. He was the Head Football Coach at Texas A&M from 1989-2003. In his 14 years, he never had a losing season, winning four conference championships including the Big 12 Title in 1998. Slocum was named Southwest Conference Coach of the Year three times.

Aggie Night with the Wildcatters will feature an Aggie hockey jersey auction. Justin Partlow of the Century Singers will perform the National Anthem. The oldest living Aggie letterman Pappy Drennan will be on hand as well. Fans can pre order their $12 tickets through the Aggie Night promotion and $5 goes directly back to your local A&M or Aggie mom's club.

The Texas Wildcatters are the ECHL affiliate for the AHL's Houston Aeros. The next Wildcatters home game is on Thursday, February 1 vs. the Long Beach Ice Dogs.
