FREDERICK, MD. - A three-run, seventh inning lifted the Frederick Keys (4-4, 33-44) over the Wilmington Blue Rocks (4-4, 48-29) by a 4-1 score on Thursday night at Nymeo Field. With the game tied 1-1 in the seventh, Daniel Fajardo powered a two-run shot to give the Keys the lead. Robbie Thorburn then walked, stole second, advanced to third on a throwing error, and scored on a wild pitch all within two pitches to make it 4-1. Diogenes Almengo and Tim Naughton polished off the final three frames to preserve the lead.

Wilmington was able to strike early on in the second inning. Cristian Perez led off with a single and was moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. Sebastian Rivero then launched a double off the left-field wall, scoring Perez to make it 1-0.

That was all Cameron Bishop allowed, however. The southpaw was dominant, scattering six hits while tying a season-high eight strikeouts over six innings. He picked up his third quality start of the season.

Daniel Tillo held the Keys off the scoreboard until the sixth. Thorburn hit a swinging bunt up the third base line and Tillo's throw sailed over the first baseman's head. That put Thorburn on second with no one out. A batter later, J.C. Escarra smacked one up the middle, scoring Thorburn to tie the game 1-1.

The Keys capitalized the next inning on Fajardo's home run.

Almengo (3-3) tossed two scoreless innings in relief. He struck out three batters and earned the win. Meanwhile, Naughton (S, 1) picked up his first Carolina League save with a flawless ninth.

Walker Sheller (0-1) took the loss after allowing the three runs in the seventh inning.

The Keys and Blue Rocks return to action on Friday, June 28 for Keyote's birthday. RHP David Lebron (2-2, 3.94) starts for the Keys opposite RHP Jonathan Bowlan (1-0, 0.00) for the Blue Rocks.
