ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades completed this past week with a 3-1-0 record. The Everblades enter this week's action with a record of 23-14-3 (49 pts., 3rd, South Division.)

Friday & Sunday, January 25 & 26 vs. South Carolina Stingrays

Game Times: 7:30 p.m. Both Nights

The Everblades return home following the ECHL All-Star break to host the South Carolina Stingrays for three games, the first two this weekend. The two teams met at Germain Arena three weeks ago with the Everblades winning both games. This weekend's games are the fourth and fifth of nine between the South Division rivals. This season, the Everblades hold a 3-0-0 record vs. the Stingrays. The Everblades hold an all-time record of 41-21-9 vs. South Carolina and are 23-8-3 all-time at home vs. the Stingrays. South Carolina enters this week riding a four game winning streak and an overall record of 25-12-2 (52 pts., 2nd, South Division).

Tuesday, January 15 vs. Pensacola Ice Pilots 5-2 Win

The Everblades earned a 5-2 win over their in-state rival last Tuesday night. The Everblades picked up their goals from five different players as Preston Callander, Brandon Roach, Ernie Hartlieb, Brad Herauf and Derek Damon all tallied for the Blades. In goal David Shantz earned the win by stopping 28 shots. Florida Special Teams: PP: 2-for-8; PK: 5-for-7.

Friday, January 18 at Mississippi Sea Wolves 4-3 Loss

The Everblades fell 4-3 on the road in Mississippi on Friday night. Kirk MacDonald and David Cornacchia staked the Everblades to a 2-0 lead in the first period, but the Sea Wolves reeled off the next three goals to carry a 3-2 lead into the third period. Brett Peterson tied the game at three early in the third, but a late power play goal for Mississippi proved to be the game winner. In goal David Shantz suffered the loss allowing the four goals on 37 shots. Florida Special Teams: PP: 0-for-6; PK: 4-for-5.

Saturday, January 19 at Pensacola Ice Pilots 2-0 Win

The Everblades scored two third period goals to pick up a road win on Saturday night. Derek Damon and Mathieu Melanson scored the two third period markers for the Everblades and goaltender Justin Peters took care of the rest by stopping all 39 shots he faced en-route to his first professional shutout and the second shutout of the season for the Everblades. Florida Special Teams: PP: 1-for-6; PK: 6-for-6.

Sunday, January 20 at Mississippi Sea Wolves 3-1 Win

The Everblades rounded out their road trip with a 3-1 win at Mississippi on Sunday night. Mike McLean staked the Everblades to a 1-0 lead after one period. After Mississippi tied the game with a power play goal early in the second period, Derek Damon tallied the eventual game-winning goal midway through the second period with a power play goal. The Everblades sealed the win with their second power play marker of the night on a tally by Ernie Hartlieb. In goal Justin Peters won his second straight game by stopping 28 of 29 shots. Florida Special Teams: PP: 2-for-5; PK: 3-for-4.

Player of the Week Nominee: This week's Everblades Player of the Week nominee is Derek Damon who tallied a point in each of the four games this past week, registering three goals and four assists. The Everblades Goaltender of the Week nominee is Justin Peters who was 2-0-0 with a 0.50 GAA and a .985 save percentage in the two games he appeared in.

Special Teams Breakdown: Here's a look at the special teams of the Everblades and how it breaks down overall, home and away: Power play: 42-for-224 (18.8%) which ranks the Everblades 9th in the ECHL. At home the Everblades are 22-for-104 (21.2%) which ranks 5th, and on the road the Everblades are 20-for-120 (16.7%) which ranks 11th. Penalty Kill: 214-for-248 (86.3%) which ranks the Everblades 3rd in the ECHL. At home the 'Blades are 95-for-107 (88.8%) which is 3rd in the league and on the road the Everblades have killed off 119 of 141 (84.4%) chances against them which ranks 8th.

Milestone Reached: Everblades forward Derek Damon played in his 100th career game on January 20 at Mississippi. The third-year front man has played 82 of his 100 games in an Everblades uniform and has registered 88 points (37g, 53a) in that span, since wrapping up a four-year college career at the University of Maine...in the same game on January 20, defenseman Brett Peterson skated in his 250th career game. Peterson's pro career began in 2004-05 after a four-year college career at Boston College. Peterson, in his second season with the Everblades has 66 points (18g 48a) in his pro career.

Approaching Milestones: Here's a look at upcoming milestones for Everblades players: F Ernie Hartlieb is six goals shy of hitting 100 for his career...D Brad Brown is 23 games away from hitting the 600 mark in his 12-year career.
