Last week's Games

Tuesday at Florida (5-2 Loss)

The Florida Everblades got goals from five different goal scorers as they defeated the Ice Pilots 5-2 at Germain Arena. Preston Callander put the Everblades on the board at 2:48 of the first period and then Brandon Roach fired a power play goal from the top of the left wing circle to put Florida up 2-0 after the first period. Erik Fabian put Pensacola on the board with his second power play goal in as many games and the Pilots cut the lead to 2-1. Ernie Hartlieb answered just 14 seconds later to increase the lead back to two, 3-1. In the third period, the Everblades added a goal from Brad Herauf on the left wing side but again the Pilots cut the lead with Mathieu Roy's second goal in as many games. This one came on the power play as well. The Everblades added some insurance as Derek Damon beat Cam Ellsworth and the Everblades went on for the 5-2 win. The Ice Pilots went 2 for 7 on the power play while the Everblades 2 for 8.

Saturday vs. Florida (2-0 Loss)

Justin Peters made 39 saves as the Florida Everblades shut out the Ice Pilots 2-0 in front of 4,691 for the first annual Pink in the Rink night at the Pensacola Civic Center. Both teams battled for 40 minutes without mustering up a goal but the Everblades took advantage of an early third period power play as Derek Damon scored just 1:03 into the final frame to put the Everblades up 1-0. Mathieu Melanson netted his 20th goal of the year at 9:15 on a redirection to give Florida the 2-0 win. The Everblades two goals came from their two leading scorers. Peters would do the rest as he stopped all 39 Ice Pilots shots. The crowd of 4,691 was the largest this season at the Hangar. Dan Sullivan and Brad Brown dropped the gloves just three seconds into the game.
