(Edmonton) - The Edmonton Eskimo Football Club has selected defensive lineman Stefan Charles in the second round (10h) overall in the CFL Canadian Draft.

"We're happy to add Charles to the Eskimo family. We chose the best player available to us, as was our plan going into this draft. We know we are going to have to wait awhile. He is physical, tough and plays with an edge. He has the attitude we want to reinforce to our football team," says Eskimo General Manager Ed Hervey.

In three seasons at the University of Regina, Charles registered 50.5 tackles and ranks fourth in school history with 9.5 sacks. He was named a first-team All-Canadian and a Canada West first-team all-star in 2011 after a standout season.
