Toronto Argonauts Select GTA Prospect Matt Sewell Eighth Overall

Missisagua - The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is proud to announce that they have selected GTA prospect Matt Sewell with eighth pick in the 2013 CFL Canadian Draft.

Commented General Manager, Jim Barker, "In the first round of the draft, you want to take a player who has a chance to develop into a starter on your team. Matt is a local player who has a huge upside and is very athletic for his size. We are pleased to have been able to take him with the eighth overall pick. "

Sewell, an offensive lineman born in Milton, Ontario, spent four years at McMaster University. Sewell impressed scouts at the 2013 CFL Combine with 17 bench press reps, 5.45 40-yard dash, and a 28-inch vertical. Last year, Sewell started seven games with the Marauders as well as being named 1st Team OUA and 2nd team CIS. He was also a runner-up for the Hec Crighton award.
