
Tiger-Cats Take Eight in 2013 CFL Draft

HAMILTON - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats added to their Canadian content today with eight picks in the CFL Draft.
With the first overall selection, the Tiger-Cats picked defensive lineman Linden Gaydosh from the University of Calgary.
Gaydosh has two Canada West All-Star nods and a CIS second-team All-Canadian honour while registering 90.5 tackles, seven quarterback sacks and 14 tackles for a loss in four seasons with the Dinos.
In the second round, the Ticats used the 15th overall pick to nab another defensive lineman, Virginia's Brent Urban. The 6-7, 280-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario, will return to Virginia for his final season of NCAA eligibility in 2013. Last year, he made 35 tackles, two quarterback sacks and five tackles for a loss. He was the 9th ranked player in this year's draft according to the final CFL Scouting Bureau.
With the first pick of the third round (19th overall), Hamilton chose Wagner linebacker Carl-Olivier Prime. In four seasons at Wagner, Prime made 278 tackles, 3.5 quarterback sacks and four forced fumbles. He recently signed as a free agent with the NFL's Indianapolis Colts.
The Black and Gold used the (35th overall selection in the fourth round to take Ottawa receiver Simon Le Marquand. In four CIS seasons, the 6-1, 199-pound native of Gatineau, Quebec, recorded 88 receptions for 1,347 yards and eight touchdowns.
With a pair of fifth round picks, the Ticats drafted Isaac Dell, a fullback from Wilfrid Laurier 37th overall and Neil King, a defensive back from Saint Mary's 43rd overall.
Dell has scored six rushing touchdowns while catching 39 passses for 394 yards in four seasons with the Golden Hawks.
King, a two-time AUS all-star, amassed 39 tackles and one quarterback sack in 2012.
The Tiger-Cats took McMaster defensive back Mike Daly (45th overall) in the sixth round and Saint Mary's kicker Brett Lauther (53rd overall) seventh round to cap things off.
Daly registered 68.5 defensive tackles and 10 interceptions in four seasons with the Marauders en route to two first-team OUA nods and second-team All-Canadian honours in 2012.
Lauther connected on 16-of-20 field goal attempts in 2012 while punting 81 times for 3,193 yards. He was named an AUS All-star in 2011 and 2012.
