Edmonton Elks News Release
(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimo Football Club announced today that receiver Deitan Dubuc (Day-buke) has agreed to terms with the team. Terms of the deal were not released.
The Eskimos had originally obtained the rights to the Michigan tight-end by trading its first overall pick and its fifth round selection (43rd overall) to Calgary in 2003. Dubuc spent four years at Michigan appearing in 30 games and was named to the Big 10's All Academic Team three years in a row and also received Michigan's Academic Achievement Award four years in row. After spending time with both Seattle and Carolina of the NFL Dubuc was waived by the Houston Texans in August 2004.
"This has been two years in the making and we are very pleased to finally have Deitan coming to Edmonton. He is a versatile player that can play a number of positions including special teams," said Eskimo Head Coach Danny Maciocia.
