ENTERING TODAY'S ACTION...

Today, the SeaWolves meet the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays) in the rubber game of a three-game series at Merchantsauto.com Stadium. Last night, the 'Wolves jumped ahead early and held on for an 8-2 win over the Cats. It was Erie's first win against New Hampshire this season. The win also insured Erie of a its first non-losing road trip since May 13-20 when the club took six of eight from Bowie and Richmond...Lefty Duane Below takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his 14th start and first against the Fisher Cats. Below was a tough luck loser in his last start at Portland going five innings, allowing a run on four hits with a walk and a strikeout. Erie was shut out in that game 1-0. Below has allowed just four earned runs over his last 18.1 innings pitched but is 0-2 with two no-decisions over that span. His last win came May 7 against Altoona...Righty B.J. LaMura takes the mound for New Hampshire. LaMura makes his 11th appearance and fourth start of the season. He took a no-decision against Akron in his last start on June 15. In the game, LaMura allowed a run on five hits with a walk and four strikeouts. He pitched against the SeaWolves in relief on June 11 tossing two scoreless innings allowing two hits with no walks and a strikeout. LaMura has not allowed more than one earned run in his last four outings.

- New Hampshire has won the season series over Erie 4-1. The SeaWolves and Fisher Cats meet 6 times in 2010." Defensively, the 'Wolves have committed 75 errors on the season which is the second-most in the EL- The SeaWolves are sixth in the league with a 4.04 team ERA. The 'Wolves are 17-20 on the road." Andy Dirks leads all league outfielders with 14 assists." Erie is 3-12 in June. - The SeaWolves have struggled against the Eastern Division. The 'Wolves are 7-21 against opponents from the East." Merchantsauto.com stadium boasts one of the shortest outfield dimensions down a line in the EL. It is only 306' down the line in right field.
