Tonight, the SeaWolves look for their third consecutive win as they begin a six-game homestand and a three-game series against the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) at Jerry Uht Park. Erie is coming off a series win over New Britain that was capped off by a shutout victory on Sunday afternoon. The win puts the SeaWolves at a game under .500 entering play tonight. Erie is four games behind first place Harrisburg and a game out of the wild card spot in the EL West. The entire Western Division is separated by just 4.5 games...Lefty Casey Crosby takes the mound tonight for the 'Wolves making his 12th start of the season. Crosby has won back-to-back starts and three of his last four. In his last start at Altoona he allowed four runs on five hits with five walks and six strikeouts in five innings of work. Erie won the game 7-6...RHP Stephen Fife takes the mound for the Sea Dogs making his 11th start. Fife has earned wins in four of his last five starts. In his last start against Richmond, Fife tossed 6.1 shutout innings, allowing one hit with a walk and a season-high seven strikeouts...Portland won the 2010 season series over Erie, it was the first time Portland won the season series in the last seven seasons...Erie is in a stretch of 13 consecutive game and 18 of 21 against the Eastern Division...The SeaWolves have made four transactions today. RHP Zach Samuels has been transferred to Class-A Lakeland. RHP Robbie Weinhart has been transferred from Toledo to Erie. INF Justin Henry has been placed on the disabled list retroactive to 6/12 with a finger laceration and INF C.J. Retherford has been signed by Detroit and assigned to Erie.
- Portland won the 2010 season series over Erie 4-2. The SeaWolves and Sea Dogs meet six times in 2011.- Defensively, the SeaWolves have committed 58 errors which is fourth-most in the EL. - The SeaWolves are 22-21 in night games and 8-10 in day games.- Erie's pitching staff is ninth in the league with a 4.22 team ERA. The SeaWolves have given up 285 runs which is third-most allowed in the league. Erie has issued 220 walks which is the most allowed in the EL.- The SeaWolves are third in the EL with 292 runs scored. - Erie is third in the league with a .267 team average. Portland is second in the EL with a .273 average.- The 'Wolves are hitting .256 with RISP, .233 with two outs and RISP and .271 with runners on base. As a team, the SeaWolves are 11-for-46 with the bases loaded.- The 'Wolves are 16-12 at Jerry Uht Park.- Erie is 14-10 against the Eastern Division.- Justin Henry is third in the league with a .337 average and leads the league with a .455 on-base percentage. Henry has reached base safely in 36 of his last 37 games. The only game he has not reached base safely in since May 1 was game one of a doubleheader on 5/31 at Binghamton.- Jamie Johnson leads the team and is tied for third in the league with 36 walks.- Portland starter Stephen Fife was the highest drafted player out of the University of Utah (3rd round '08 - 85th overall) until this year's draft when C.J. Cron (son of Erie's Chris Cron) was drafted in the first round, 17th overall.
