Manchester, N.H.- The Toronto Blue Jays, parent club of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, have selected the contract of Fisher Cats starting pitcher Zach Stewart today. The 24-year old right-hander is slated to make his Major League debut and start on Thursday afternoon against the Baltimore Orioles at Rogers Center in Toronto. He will become the 47th player to make his Major League Baseball debut after playing for the Fisher Cats and the seventh player to do so in 2011, following Tim Collins, Brad Emaus, Luis Perez, David Cooper, Trystan Magnuson and Eric Thames.

"Whenever one of our players earns a promotion to the Major Leagues, it's always exciting time for our team and especially our fans," said Fisher Cats President Rick Brenner. "Zach has been a model member of the Fisher Cats since 2010 and has delivered some spectacular performances on the mound at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. We wish him the best of luck with the Blue Jays."

Stewart currently holds a 4-3 record with a 4.39 ERA in 12 starts for New Hampshire in the Eastern League this season, and in his last three starts is 1-0 with a 2.37 ERA. In 2010, the Wichita Falls, TX native went 8-3 with a 3.63 ERA in 26 starts for the Fisher Cats.

Stewart was originally the 84th overall pick of the 2008 Major League Draft when he was selected in the third round by the Cincinnati Reds. He was acquired by the Blue Jays from the Reds on July 31, 2009 when he was traded to Toronto along with Josh Roenicke and Edwin Encarnacion for Scott Rolen.

Individual game tickets, season tickets, summer fun packs and tickets to the 2011 Northeast Delta Dental Eastern League All-Star Game are available now at the Fisher Cats Ticket Office at 1 Line Drive, Manchester, NH 03101, online at www.nhfishercats.com or by calling the Fisher Cats at (603) 641-2005.
