Today, the Erie SeaWolves try to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Bowie Baysox after losing the first three of the four-game series. Last night, Erie gave up a season-high 12 runs on an Eastern League season-high 19 hits, falling 12-1 at Prince George's Stadium. The SeaWolves lone bright spot was Derek Hill returning from an abdominal contusion he suffered on Tuesday to record his first four-hit game since August 20, 2017. This afternoon, Erie is transformed into the Piñatas for the second time in 2019 as a part of the MiLB Copa De La Diversión initiative. Bowie will play as the Congrejos Fantasmas. Anthony Castro gets the nod for Erie and is coming off a no-decision on May 14 against Richmond. Castro pitched four innings and allowed two runs on four hits while tying a season-high with six strikeouts. After surrendering five runs in 0.2 innings against Bowie on April 15, Castro has not allowed an earned run in his last eight innings versus the Baysox. Zac Lowther goes for Bowie and is coming off a win his last outing on May 14 against Akron behind 7.2 shutout innings. In his lone start against Erie on May 2, Lowther held the SeaWolves to one hit in 5.1 scoreless innings.

- In their first appearance as the Piñatas, Erie defeated the Fantasmas on May 5 at UPMC Park 5-0

- Erie surrendered an Eastern League season-high 19 hits last night and the most since the SeaWolves allowed 20 hits to the Harrisburg Senators on August 14, 2018

- Derek Hill returned from an abdominal contusion he suffered on Tuesday against Richmond and recorded his first four-hit game since August 20, 2017

- Last night, Erie committed multiple errors for the fifth time this season, but have committed the second-fewest errors in the league (24). Bowie has committed the fourth-most (35)

- Erie has gone 1-for-21 with runners in scoring position during in the series against Bowie

- After hitting 11 home runs through the first 23 games of the season, Erie has now slugged 16 in the past 15 games

- The SeaWolves swept Bowie at Prince George's Stadium on April 15-17, the first sweep in Bowie since April 27-29, 2010
