Garcia Drives in Two in Sens 6-4 Loss to Altoona

Harrisburg Senators News Release
Altoona (22-20) plated two runs in the eighth inning and went on to beat the Senators (29-13) 6-4. It was a see saw game that saw Altoona take a 2-0 lead in the second. The Senators then scored the next four runs in the game with a run in the third and three more in the fifth before Altoona rallied and scored the final four runs in the contest. The final 11 batters that came to the plate for the Sens were retired.
Turning Point
With the Senators lead 4-2 and two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning, Hunter Owen was hit by a pitch. Jason Delay followed with an RBI double and Bralin Jackson with an RBI single to tie the game. Instead of heading to the seventh leading 4-2, Altoona plated two runs with two outs and no one on base which became the turning point in the game.
On Capitol Hill
Tyler Mapes went 5.2 innings and allowed six hits and four runs. Tyler struck out five and didn't walk a batter. He retired the side in order three times. Jacob Condra-Bogan pitched 2.1 innings and took the loss. He inherited two runners and allowed one to score on a single. Altogether he allowed four hits and two runs with two of the hits and both runs scoring in the eighth inning.
With the Gavel
Luis Garcia had a clutch two-out two-run single giving the Senators a 3-2 lead in the fifth inning. Ian Sagdal had two hits and an RBI and Tres Barrera also had two hits. Bryan Mejia tripled, and Chuck Taylor and Tyler Goeddel also had hits.
Filibusters
Altoona took three of four from the Senators. It's the second time this season the Senators have lost a series.
The Senators lead in the division over second place Altoona is at 7.0 games.
Harrisburg is 8-9 in May after going 21-4 in April.
The game included a 16-minute delay due to a sudden and quick rainstorm.
Chris Dominguez was transferred to Harrisburg from Fresno and started at third base, becoming the 37th player to appear in a game for the Senators this season.

After an off-day Monday, the Senators and Akron RubberDucks play game one of a three-game series at Canal Park Tuesday night at 6:35 p.m. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 6:25 p.m.
