Tonight, the Erie SeaWolves begin a three-game series with the Bowie Baysox, an opponent they swept a week ago at Prince George's Stadium. The SeaWolves hope to bounce back from their first suffered sweep of 2019, including identical 6-5 come-from-behind wins, on Saturday, by Binghamton that have pushed Erie back to just a game over .500. The Baysox enter on a six-game losing streak, averaging just 3.0 runs/game during that stretch and coming off back-to-back shutouts at the end hands of Akron. Erie will send Nick Ramirez to the mound, coming off a no-decision 4.2 innings outing at Bowie on 4/16. Ramirez has struck out a 13 batters in just 8.0 innings, over two starts. He will face Tyler Herb, who took the loss and was tagged for nine runs (eight earned) in his last start vs. Erie on 4/15. Herb came to the Baltimore organization on March 23, 2019 in a trade from the San Francisco Giants. He is now in his third organization after being initially selected in the 29th round by the Seattle Mariners in 2014.
