JERRY UHT PARK * GAME #138 * HOME GAME #66 * NIGHT GAME #101
Tonight, the SeaWolves look to snap a two-game slide as they begin their final series of the season against the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles) in the opening game of a five-game series at Jerry Uht Park. Yesterday, the SeaWolves could not come up with key hits as they fell to Akron in the series finale of a four-game set at Canal Park 2-1.. Today, righty Chad Green makes his 27th start of the season and fifth against the Baysox. Green is 0-3 with a no-decision and a 5.66 ERA against the Baysox this season. Green has been a victim of a lack of run support throughout the season. In 17 of his 26 starts, the SeaWolves have scored three runs or fewer. Green took a no-decision in his last start against Harrisburg on August 30. In the game, he tossed six shutout innings, allowing five hits with no walks and six strikeouts. He left the game with a lead but the bullpen could not hold on and Erie lost the game 4-3... RHP Gene Escat takes the mound for Bowie making his 32nd appearance, sixth start and fourth appearance against Erie. Escat has made three relief appearances against Erie and is 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA in those appearances. Escat took a no-decision in his last start against Reading on August 27. In the game, he allowed two runs on six hits with two walks and three strikeouts in four innings of work.
