Altoona Curve News Release
CURVE, Pa. - Yuengling Oktoberfest 2015 is set for Peoples Natural Gas Field on Saturday, October 3 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event, which is now in its fifth year and is open to all ages, will carry a cover charge of only $5 for adults while kids 12 and under are free.
Mr. Oktoberfest Joe Maloy and the Grammy-nominted Dick Tady Orchestra will provide the authentic Oktoberfest-style music for the first portion of the four-hour event at PNG Field. Returning to headline this year's event are fan-favorites Pistol Peg & The Beer Kegs, who hail from Altoona. Pistol Peg, an all-country cover band, has a large following in Altoona and the surrounding region.
This year's Yuengling Oktoberfest event will again feature even more traditional German-style food available for purchase. In addition to more authentic German-style fare, beer prices for the event will stay the same lower price introduced last year with 16 oz. drafts and cans staying at $3. Fans will again have the same great choices of Yuengling beer like the seasonal 'Oktoberfest,' the traditional Lager, Light Lager, Black & Tan and Premium Light.
"We have consistently received positive feedback from the event over the years but as always we've taken suggestions from attendees and tried to implement those that were feasible into this year's event." said Curve General Manager Rob Egan. "Bringing back Pistol Peg & The Beer Kegs will continue to open the event up to a broader audience, including some who have never been to the ballpark before."
Yuengling Oktoberfest will be rain or shine with the bands playing on the main concourse on the first-base side. Seating will be available near the bands, throughout the main concourse, and in the lower seating bowl. In addition, there will be vendors with seasonal crafts and year-round products for attendees to peruse. Vendor spaces are available for as low as $20 and can be reserved by calling Emily at (814) 283-3108.
The Curve, PA Kids' Zone will be open with a bounce house, baseball hitting game and other activities. The pitch speed cage, a cornhole court, and other festival-style games for the 'big kids' will also be available to play. People of all ages will be able to go on to the field and play catch in the outfield grass during the event.
Tickets for the event are available now by calling 877.99.CURVE, visiting AltoonaCurve.com or stopping by the offices at Peoples Natural Gas Field. Season tickets for the 2015 Curve season are on also currently on sale with early-bird pricing in effect for those who renew and pay in full by October 16, 2016.
