
Fightins stopped by 'Squirrels

Reading Fightin Phils News Release
The Fightin Phils (79-59) fell to the Richmond Flying Squirrels (70-67) on Friday night by a score of 5-4. Reading tied the game in the seventh inning but saw Richmond break in the bottom half of the inning.
KC Serna scored on an error by Flying Squirrels shortstop Rando Moreno in the top of the first inning that gave the Fightin Phils a 1-0 lead. Harold Martinez hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning that scored Angelo Mora and gave Reading a 2-0 lead.
Richmond took a 3-2 lead off Zach Eflin with two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Eflin had retired the first 11 batters. Hunter Cole hit a RBI double that was followed by RBI singles from Devin Harris and Engel Beltre. Richmond added another run off Eflin in the bottom of the sixth inning as Ricky Oropesa hit a RBI double that scored Cole.
Reading tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the seventh inning as Rene Garcia hit a two-run single off Jose Casilla with two outs. Cameron Perkins and Serna scored on the single. Eflin left the game after the sixth inning. He allowed four runs off six hits and two walks with five strikeouts.
Edubray Ramos (1-2) came into the game in the bottom of the seventh inning. Juan Ciriaco hit a go-ahead RBI single with two outs that scored Skyler Stromsmoe that gave Richmond a 5-4 lead. Ramos pitched just one inning as he took the loss. Tom Windle pitched the bottom of the eighth inning. Windle retired the side in order.
Jose Casilla (4-5) earned the win while Pedro Rodriguez earned his second save.
The Fightin Phils and Flying Squirrels will meet again on Saturday night. First pitch is at 6:05 pm. Fans can listen to the game on CBS Sports Radio 1240 AM/98-5 FM and fightins.com beginning at 5:35 pm.
