The Thunder used three-hit games from Danny Oh, Tyler Wade and Francisco Arcia to take a 3-1 victory over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Friday night in front of 4,277 fans at ARM & HAMMER Park. The win broke a five-game losing streak for the Thunder.
The Thunder tagged Fisher Cats starter Casey Lawrence for 16 hits, including 11 over the first five innings. It was in the fifth that the Thunder grabbed the lead they would not relinquish. Dan Fiorito doubled home Francisco Arcia and two batters later, Danny Oh drove in Fiorito with a single through the middle for a 2-1 lead.
Rookie Davis, who surrendered an unearned run in the first inning, threw seven innings and allowed just four baserunners (two hits, two walks) and struck out four to pick up his second win of the season.
Six Thunder batters recorded multi-hit games led by Oh, Wade and Arcia. Mark Payton, Jake Skole and Jose Rosario also added two-hit games. Skole's RBI single in the seventh gave the Thunder the final margin in the game. Skole is batting 6-for-12 with 4 RBI and three extra base hits since joining the Thunder.
Alex Smith finished off his second Double-A save with two innings of scoreless relief. Smith threw just 12 pitches to finish off the victory for the Thunder.
The top seven batters in the order combined to go 15-for-26 (.577) for the Thunder.
Your Thunder will play game a doubleheader on Saturday night beginning at 6pm. Saturday features post-game fireworks set to Michael Jackson music and Happy Hour beer specials throughout the game. In the first game of the doubleheader the Thunder will throw LHP Caleb Smith (9-7, 3.49), LHP Luis Perez (2-1, 3.80) will go for New Hampshire. In game two, the Thunder will start LHP Matt Tracy (1-2, 2.53), the Fisher Cats' starter is to be announced Listen live to Thunder baseball on 91.3 WTSR and online at Trentonthunder.com beginning at 5:40pm.
